McGrath Youth Community Garden ... ...>Pictures<...  Our first growing season was considered quite successful.  All veggies went to the benefit of families who worked the garden, in addition to area elderly and low-income people in the area.  Excess veggies, jellies, pickles and salsa were also sold at the Farmer's Markets in Isle (Saturdays till noon) and Wahkon (starting at 2 pm), with proceeds of those sales donated toward next year's garden needs.

Last year's season was too big of a challenge for the few hard working adult volunteers in combination with very little youth participation. Therefore, this year, we planned to give hay-bale planters to some area residents, allowing them the opportunity to raise their own favorite veggies (without the need to hoe, till or weed!) This did not occur, either.

Without more volunteers, this community endeavor will be just a fond memory
